Q: WHAT IS INK!'S POSITION ON AI?
A: We do not consider AI image generation to be art, and will not be accepting AI generated content into our assets. For a more developped answer, read our article about our definition of art.
Q: CAN INK! PROTECT ITS ARTISTS AGAINST AI THEFT?
A: Our art is free for use for everyone, and that means everyone. We cannot stop malicious use of our material, but then again, nobody can. Anyone who pretends that they can protect artists from AI thiefs are usually themselves grifters. However, if it becomes possible in the future to render our material unusable for AI generation, it will be our priority to protect our work from such uses.
Q: CAN INK! REMUNERATE ITS ARTISTS?
A: Our contributors will be unremunerated for the foreseeable future. We do not stop artists from selling their creations, even those contributed to INK! We encourage people to support artists financially in other ways, such as via their personal crowdfunding.
Q: DOES INK! MAKE A PROFIT OFF ARTISTS' WORK?
A: We do not make a profit, and do not plan to. Any of our material that is not free serves to negate the production and distribution costs (pays for paper, ink, shipping fees, etc.) For a more detailed answer, read this article on INK! and money.
